A shout out to readers of Fenuxe Magazine, for confirming what we (ahem) already know is true. The AGMC was voted Best Chorus Line/Choir in Atlanta by participants in the annual survey, listing the best organizations and businesses metro Atlanta has to offer.
The chorus received the award Aug. 4 at the magazine’s annual Fire Party at Atlantic Station.
Last November, AGMC Artistic DirectorKevin Robison was also named to the Fenuxe 50, recognizing his contributions to Atlanta’s arts and LGBT communities.
Regarding the recent Best Choir award, Robison noted, “We’re honored by this award, considering the tremendous contributions of all the nominees, including our sister chorus OurSong. The AGMC is proud to continue programming concerts that are not only of the highest musical quality, but are also socially relevant. Having just returned from presenting the closing performance of the festival of GALA Choruses International, we’re thrilled to be recognized by the Atlanta community in this way. Thanks to all who voted for us. We are your chorus, Atlanta!”
Thanks again to Fenuxe and its readers, and to our many volunteer singers, board members and associate members, along with our audiences, donors, corporate sponsors and our underpaid but exceedingly valued staff for their hard work and dedication that makes this recognition and our continuing service possible.
