The Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus is seeking a qualified director to assist in developing, promoting, recruiting, rehearsing and conducting an auditioned chorus of women’s voices to perform a short set of pieces on the AGMC’s holiday concerts, Dec. 7-8 at The Cathedral of St. Philip. The potential chorus would be open to women of any orientation.
Preferred director qualifications: A doctoral or master’s degree in voice or choral conducting, a minimum of five years’ conducting experience, knowledge of women’s voices, knowledge of standard literature, an appreciation for a broad spectrum of genres, and the commitment to conducting rehearsals for the December performances.
If successful, the chosen candidate may be given the opportunity to move into the position of a part-time music director for a yet-to-be-named women’s chorus, presenting two to three full-length concerts per season under the umbrella of the AGMC.
A small stipend will be offered for development of the project.
Interested applicants should send a letter of introduction and resume immediately via high-priority email to email@example.com with the subject “Women’s Chorus Application.” For more information, please contact Artistic Director Kevin Robison.
