The AGMC will be defying musical gravity in our spring show, No Rest for the Wicked, a salute to the music of the great Stephen Schwartz.
The mastermind behind the hit Broadway shows Wicked, Godspell, Pippin and many more, Schwartz has multiple Tony Award nominations and has won three Oscars, four Grammys, four Drama Desk Awards and numerous lifetime-achievement awards, among many other accolades.
You can look forward to a performance of exceptional music, including Wicked’s touching “For Good” and empowering “Defying Gravity,” plus many more. The chorus will also perform Schwartz’s “Testimony,” a new choral work with lyrics drawn from the “It Gets Better” project. Audiences should also expect the AGMC’s best dancers and the theatrics that Schwartz’s music deserves.
No Rest for the Wicked will be presented in three shows Friday and Saturday, April 19-20 (location to be announced). As noted above, audiences will receive a special treat…the debut of the AGMC Women’s Chorus Project, under the direction of Dr. Melissa Arasi.
