We are thrilled to announce that our project to launch a new Atlanta women’s singing group is ready to launch, with auditions slated for December, rehearsals beginning Jan. 10 and first performances at the AGMC spring show.
The new chorus is under the direction of Dr. Melissa Arasi, who has maintained a diverse and exceptional career as a choral conductor, teacher and currently as supervisor of music for the Cobb County School District. For her impressive bio sketch, see our website’s Leadership page.
It is our hope that the AGMC Women’s Chorus Project will evolve into a stand-alone chorus that will present two to three full-length concerts per season under the umbrella of the AGMC.
The chorus is open to all women, regardless of identification. The audition will include a solo, tonal memory and vocalization. Please also be prepared to sing any solo of your choice…as simple as “Jingle Bells,” or anything else that best showcases your voice.
Rehearsals will begin January 10, 2013 (location details are still being confirmed).
