Voices of Note

  • The renowned Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus and Atlanta Women’s Chorus comprise the largest community music organization in the Southeast. Each chorus presents three annual concert experiences defined by musical excellence and a commitment to promoting equality for all people. Voices of Note, the not-for-profit organization governing our choruses, is a catalyst for social change. It provides an opportunity to be inspired, a journey to places in hearts and minds that have yet to be explored, and a voyage into the perspective of our neighbors, teachers, siblings and friends. Above all, Voices of Note believes that the most effective way to deliver the message of equality for all people is with music. Through music, we are changing hearts and minds.

Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus

  • The Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus, one of the world’s longest-running gay men’s choruses, is part of Voices of Note, Inc., a not-for-profit organization governing the AGMC and the Atlanta Women’s Chorus. Founded by Jeffrey McIntyre in 1981, the AGMC has long been a catalyst for social change, providing an opportunity to be inspired and to journey into the perspectives of our LGBTQ+ neighbors, teachers, siblings and friends. Both the AGMC and the AWC are members of GALA, the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses. Read more about the history of the AGMC at the Wikipedia page »

Atlanta Women’s Chorus

  • The Atlanta Women’s Chorus is a talented, diverse group of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs. The AWC is led by Artistic Director Dr. Melissa Arasi, assistant professor of music at Reinhardt University. The group began in 2013 as the Atlanta Women’s Project, a small ensemble sponsored by the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus (AGMC) which now has over 40 seasons as one of of the longest-running gay choruses. In early 2014, the newly formed AWC presented its first full-length concert and is now an independent choral ensemble under the Voices of Note organizational umbrella. The AWC presents three concerts with performances each season.
